Generals move to 2-0 with 5-1 win at Columbia-Greene

Hudson, NY - Taya Yacobucci (Canajoharie, NY) and Carliza Roark (Ohio, NY) scored 2 goals apiece to lead the Herkimer Generals Women's Soccer team to a 5-1 win over the Columbia-Greene Twins on Wednesday afternoon in Hudson, NY. The road win improves Herkimer's record to 2-0 both overall and in Mountain Valley Conference play.

Kayla Suppa (Oneida, NY) added the fifth goal of the day for Herkimer, who is ranked #5 in the latest NJCAA Division III National Poll. Also turning in strong efforts in the Generals win were Dylan Lawson (Birmingham, Alabama), Kate Blough (Elka Park, NY) and Kurstin Gay (Herkimer, NY) who was the starting goalkeeper last year but has moved to being a field player due to injuries.

Next up for the Generals is a non-conference home matchup against the Jamestown CC Jayhawks on Saturday afternoon at Wehrum Stadium. Start time is set for 3:30 PM. The women's game will follow the 1:00 Men's Soccer game between Jamestown and Herkimer.
