Consecutive shutouts for Lady Generals

PLATTSBURGH, NY – Scoring three goals in the second half, the Herkimer Women's Soccer team went into Clinton Community College Sunday and handed the Cougars a 3-0 loss.

The Lady Generals (5-1-1) have found their offensive groove as of late. Adding in the three goals from Sunday, Herkimer has outscored their opponents 13-to-1 in the last three games. Assisting on many of those goals has been freshman Kalli Warmingham (Newport, NY). Warmingham added two assists Sunday against the Cougars and six in her last three games, averaging two per game in that span.

Benefitting from the defensive attention to Warmingham was Kaitlyn Lyon (Dolgeville, NY) and Jessica Williamson (Mexico, NY) Sunday. Lyon put the Lady Generals on the board 1-0 in the 49th minute, while Williamson added to the lead (2-0) in the 57thminute.

Ending the scoring for Herkimer was Emily Rexford (Canton, NY) and Williamson. Williamson found Rexford in the 84th minute to push the lead to 3-0.

In goal for Herkimer was senior Kristi Bills (Northville, NY). Bills saved one shot on the day.

The Lady Generals next game is against North Country Community College on Wednesday (9/25). The Saints will host the Lady Generals at 2 p.m.
