Coach Anadio wins 300th game in Herkimer softball sweep of Columbia-Greene

Game 1:

Kali Puppolo of Herkimer College Generals Shuts Out Columbia Greene

 

Kali Puppolo didn't allow a single run as Herkimer College Generals defeated Columbia Greene 8-0 on Wednesday. Puppolo allowed just one hit.

   

Herkimer College Generals notched four runs in the fourth inning. Herkimer College Generals's big inning was driven by a single by Jennah Hogan, an error on a ball put in play by Keeanna Wolcik, and a double by Morgan Sgarlata .

 

One bright spot for Columbia Greene was a single by Jenna Rippel in the first inning.

 

Puppolo earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Herkimer College Generals. She allowed one hit and zero runs over six innings, striking out 11.

 

Rachel Nielsen took the loss for Columbia Greene. She lasted five and a third innings, allowing eight hits and eight runs while striking out five.

 

Herkimer College Generals tallied eight hits. Taylor Zaino, Brooke Snyder, and Sgarlata each had multiple hits for Herkimer College Generals. Sgarlata , Snyder, and Zaino all had two hits to lead Herkimer College Generals.

 

Rippel led Columbia Greene with one hit in three at bats.

 

Game 2:

Keeanna Wolcik of Herkimer College Generals Shuts Out Columbia Greene

  

Keeanna Wolcik threw a shutout to lead Herkimer College Generals past Columbia Greene 10-0 on Wednesday.

 

Madisyn Butler led Herkimer College Generals to victory by driving in five runs. She went 3-for-3 at the plate. Butler drove in runs on a double in the second, a single in the third, and a single in the fourth.

 

Herkimer College Generals notched three runs in the fourth inning. Herkimer College Generals big bats were led by Brooke Snyder and Butler, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

 

A single by Jenna Rippel in the first inning was a positive for Columbia Greene.

 

Wolcik led the Herkimer College Generals to victory on the pitcher's mound. She surrendered zero runs on four hits over five innings, striking out six.

  

Kaylee Hoffman took the loss for Columbia Greene. She allowed 14 hits and ten runs over five innings.

 

Herkimer College Generals collected 14 hits on the day. Wolcik, Butler, Maria Dinigro, Taylor Zaino, and Jennah Hogan each managed multiple hits for Herkimer College Generals. Butler and Wolcik each collected three hits to lead Herkimer College Generals.
