Keeler, Snyder lead Generals to doubleheader sweep of Genesee CC

Batavia, NY - Makenzie Keeler (Jamesville, NY) and Brooke Snyder (Suntee, CA) combined for 9 hits on the day to lead the Herkimer Generals to a sweep of the Genesee CC Cougars on Thursday afternoon in Batavia. The wins give the # 3 Nationally Ranked Generals an overall record of 32-6 on the year and gives them 24 wins in their last 25 games. 

In Game 1, an 8-1 Herkimer victory, Keeler went 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored and a solo home run in the fourth inning. Snyder went 2 for 3 with a double, triple, and 2  RBI'S. Herkimer broke the game open in the third inning, scoring 5 runs, keyed by Brianna Hoskins (Washington Township, NJ) 3 run homer. Kali Puppolo (Adams, MA) went six innings on the mound, striking out 6 and only allowing 3 hits and 1 run to earn the win. 

In Game 2, the Generals scored in each of the 4 innings they batted to secure the 8-0 win in 5 innings. Victoria De La Cruz (Whitter, CA) went 3 for 3, while Jennah Hogan (East Greenbush, NY) and Snyder went 2 for 3 from the plate. Taylor Betz (Cheektowaga, NY) earned the win for the Generals on the bump, allowing only one hit over 4 innings of work and striking out 4. 

The Generals now look forward to returning home for a big weekend against Region III rivals. On Saturday, they will host Monroe Community College at 1:00 PM followed by a home date with the Corning Red Barons on Sunday afternoon, which starts at 12 Noon.
