P.J. Anadio Mountain Valley Conference Coach of the Year

HERKIMER, NY – For the third time in his career at Herkimer College, Head Softball Coach P.J. Anadio has earned the Mountain Valley Conference Coach of the Year Award.

Anadio, who became head coach in 2010, has now gotten the award in 2011, 2013 and 2014. His 170-40 career record during that time has given the Generals four consecutive Mountain Valley Conference Championships (2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014), three consecutive Region III Championship (2012, 2013 and 2014) and one National Championship. The lone national championship was the first ever for the softball program at Herkimer College, going 43-2 in 2013.

Anadio commented on the award by saying, “It’s truly an honor to be recognized by my peers as the Coach of the Year. I also want to recognize my coaching staff, as this award is a reflection of their hard work and dedication to this program as well. They include Associate Head Coach Dan Stalteri and my assistants Stephen Sydoriw, Steve Speno, Jackie Woudenberg and Emily Woudenberg. Ultimately, none of this is possible without the support of my administration and the entire Herkimer College community along with the sacrifice and commitment given by my student athletes.”
