Mercer and Lanz take doubles again over Broncos

HERKIMER, NY – In their first home match in some time, the Herkimer Generals women’s tennis team lost to SUNY Delhi 8-1 on Tuesday (9/30).

The Generals saw many of their student-athletes compete against the Broncos in singles and doubles, but the tandem of Jordan Mercer (Oneida, NY) and Emilee Lanz (Oneida, NY) stood out, winning their third doubles match of the season against Rebekah Kuntze and Tracy Keilbach, 8-3.

Herkimer will have their second consecutive home match, a first time this season on Thursday (10/2). They’ll host Broome Community College at East Herkimer Sports Complex. Matches will begin at 4:30 p.m. The Hornets defeated the Generals 9-0 last week at home. Herkimer will look for pay back on their home court.

5th Singles: Kathleen Lennon (DELHI) def. Mayuko Suzuki (HERK) 6-3, 6-2

6th Singles: Mei Pan (DELHI) def. Sam Suarez (HERK) 3-6, 6-0, 6-4

1st Doubles: Jones & Pagan (DELHI) def. Kanno & Suzuki (HERK) 8-6

2nd Doubles: Mercer & Lanz (HERK) def. Kuntze & Keilbach (DELHI) 8-3

3rd Doubles: Pan & Lennon (DELHI) def. Grogan & Noh (HERK) 8-0
