Lanz Takes Singles and Doubles in Delhi

DELHI, NY – Improving in their second consecutive match away from home, thanks in part to freshman Emilee Lanz (Oneida, NY), the Herkimer Generals women’s tennis team lost to SUNY Delhi on Tuesday (9/16) 7-2.

Herkimer (0-3) took two matches from the Broncos in singles and doubles. Taking those honors for the Generals was Lanz. In 3rd singles she defeated Chein Pan 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 10-4; then teammate Jordan Mercer (Oneida, NY) joined her for doubles, making quick work of 2nd doubles 8-3.

Herkimer’s next match is Friday, September 19th. It will be the team’s third consecutive match away from home. They’ll travel to Queensbury, NY to take on SUNY Adirondack. Match play is set for 4:30 p.m.

5th Singles: Kathleen Lennon (DELHI) def. Doyoung Noh (HERK) 6-0, 6-0

6th Singles: HERK Forfeit

1st Doubles: Jones & Pagan (DELHI) def. Kanno & Suzuki (HERK) 8-3

2nd Doubles: Lanz & Mercer (HERK) def. Benitz & Draper (DELHI) 8-3

3rd Doubles: HERK Forfeit
