Volleyball takes first win over Saints

Wednesday night’s match up versus the North Country Community College Saints turned out to be Herkimer’s best night on the court so far this season.  The Generals showed to be a powerhouse on the night defeating the Saints by double digits in every game.  A few key players for Herkimer included #6 Alexandra Maunz (Marcy, NY) and #17 Carolyn Alford (Little Falls, NY) who dominated the serve, racking up 10 aces each.    The team also produced an overall total of 17 kills, seven of which came from freshman middle hitter #12 Alex Jones (Canastota, NY).  The Herkimer Generals now look to continue their success in this weekend’s POD Tournament hosted by #5 Corning Community College.

POD Tournament proved challenging for Herkimer.

In Saturday’s POD Tournament hosted by Fulton-Montgomery Community College the Generals played three matches versus #2 ranked Jamestown, Niagara Community College, and #7 ranked Erie.  Herkimer battled in each game but left the day winless against some of the top teams in Region III.  Winning the tournament was the host team FMCC finishing the day 3-0.

Generals Volleyball falls short to #3 MVCC Hawks

The 2016 Herkimer volleyball team fell short in tonight’s home opener to #3 Mohawk Valley Community College.  The generals put up a fight, trailing the Hawks by just single digits each game.  In the night’s final set Herkimer produced a promising 5 point streak at Mohawk’s match point, but the Hawks concluded the evening finishing the last set on top 20-25.

Herkimer Generals compete in Jefferson Invitational

Watertown, NY-  Herkimer Generals competed in the Jefferson Community College Invitational Saturday (9/3) and faced Fulton-Montgomery, Tompkins Cortland, and Cayuga Community College.

Women’s Volleyball tryouts in August

HERKIMER, NY – The Herkimer Generals women’s volleyball program will have tryouts Monday, August 15 in the Physical Education Building at 6 p.m.
