Volleyball earns another win over Panthers at POD Tournament

This weekend the Herkimer Generals volleyball team competed in a POD Tournament hosted by Corning Community College.  Our generals played three matches on Saturday and started off the day strong defeating the Tompkins Cortland Community College Panthers three games to one.  The match proved to be a battle as Tompkins Cortland refused the shut out and stole one game after Herkimer had won the first two.  That didn't discourage our Generals as they needed just one more set to finish the match victorious. Herkimer then competed against the host team, the Corning Red Barons.  Although unlucky in the first game the Generals put up a serious fight leaving the Red Barons with just a two point lead in the final game.  In the last game versus #6 SUNY Broome, Herkimer fell just shy in each set losing the match 3-0.
