Herkimer Volleyball opens season at Jefferson Invitational

Watertown, NY - The Herkimer Girls Volleyball kicked off the 2018 campaign by playing in the Jefferson CC Invitational on Saturday in Watertown, NY. They opened with a match against Cayuga Community College winning 2-0 with scores of 25-12, 25-9, Next they played a hard fought game against Corning Community College losing 0-2 with scores of 26-28, 18-25, Finally ending the day with another hard fought game against Monroe Community College losing 0-2 with scores of 14-25, 22-25.

Leading the Generals in with 13 kills, 1 ace, 16 digs and 7 blocks was (#3)Kristen Brennan from Amenia, NY. Cody Gay (#4) from Herkimer, NY came up strong with 1 kill, 6 assists, 2 aces, and 31 digs. Kiara Cherry (#1) from Poughkeepsie, NY also had a strong game with 12 kills, 17 assists, 12 digs and 1 block. The Generals are looking forward to their Home POD coming up on Sunday September 9th, as they will play matches against Niagara CC, Jamestown CC, and Erie CC. Matches are set to start at 9:00 AM at the Herkimer Varsity Gym. Come on out to support your Girls Volleyball team!
