Generals turn back Timberwolves in Mountain Valley Conference showdown
Glens Falls, NY - In a matchup of the top two teams in the Mountain Valley Conference, the Herkimer Generals went on the road and beat the SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves by a score of 3-0 on Thursday night in Glens Falls, NY. The scores of the match were 25-23, 25-20, and 25-13. With the win, Herkimer takes over sole possession of first place in the MVC with a 4-0 record and improve their overall record to 10-6 overall for 2019.
Leading the Generals with 4 kills, 2 aces, 10 digs and 3 blocks was Evonna Mower (Jordanville ,NY) Kiara Cherry (Poughkeepsie, NY) had 25 assists, 6 digs and 2 blocks. Kristin Brennan (Amenia, NY) had 13 kills, and 18 digs. Monique Mares (Wilmington CA) had 4 digs. Brittany Mcmanus (Herkimer NY )had 6 digs, Kerissa Marquissee (Mohawk NY) had 15 digs, Kayla Suppa (Oneida, NY) had 26 Digs. Abigail Elisofon ( Waterloo, NY)had 1 kill and 1 dig. Anna Rolince (Syracuse NY )had 8 kills, 2 assists, and 3 digs and Ashley Bosco (Solvay, NY) had 4 kills, and 3 blocks. Avianna Brown (Syracuse, NY) and Corriana Campbell (Syracuse, NY) provided great emotional support of the bench to help the Generals to the big win.
Next up for Herkimer is their Home POD match on Saturday, Oct 5th as they will play Monroe CC, Genesee CC, and Finger Lakes CC. The Generals open the POD with a 9:00 AM start against FLCC.
