Volleyball drops all 3 matches at Home POD

Herkimer, NY - It was a tough day for the Herkimer Generals Volleyball team as they hosted 5 teams in their annual home POD match on Saturday.  The Generals played against Finger Lakes Community College and lost 1-3 with scores of 25-14, 19-25, 23-15 and 17-25. Next they played Monroe Community College, losing 0-3 with scores of 22-25, 27-29 and 13-25. The final game was against Genesee Community College where they lost 1-3 with scores of 18-25, 16-25, 26-24 and 22-25. The losses drops Herkimer's overall record to 10-9 for the season. 

The Generals stat leaders for the day is as follows:

Ashley Bosco (Solvay, NY) had 14 kills, 9 digs and 15 blocks.
Kerissa Marquissee  (Mohawk, NY) had 4 kills, 2 assists, 3 aces, 48 digs and 3 Blocks
Anna Rolince (Syracuse, NY) had 9 kills, 9 assists, 12 digs and 12 blocks
Brittany McManus (Herkimer, NY) had 16 kills, 1 assist, 1 ace, 36 digs and 2 blocks.

Herkimer will now look to wrap up the Mountain Valley Conference Championship on Wednesday, Oct 9th as they will host rival Mohawk Valley Community College at 6:00 PM for the final home match of the 2019 season. The Generals have a record of 4-0 in the conference and can clinch the outright conference title with a win on Wednesday.
