McManus and Suppa Receive Post Season Honors

Herkimer NY-Sophomore's Brittany McManus (Herkimer, NY) and Kayla Suppa (Oneida, NY) recently received post season honors. The two played an integral part in the Herkimer Generals volleyball success this season. McManus and Suppa got named All-Conference in the Mountain Valley Conference.

McManus served as the teams Middle Blocker the past two seasons, placing 10th in the nation (2nd in the region) in Blocks per Set. McManus averaged 3.28 Diggs per set (13th in the region), 1.56 kills per set and had a 1.40 hit percentage both ranking in the top 28 in the region.  Head Coach Dianna Ste-Marie quoted “Brittany is an all-around player on the court. She can do it all. Brittany has been my go-to player for the last two competitive seasons. I will miss her can do attitude and her big heart next year. She is the first one to step up to help and always puts the team first”.

Suppa served as the team’s libero, amounting 288 digs this season which ranked her 4th in the region. In addition, Kayla averaged 8.00 digs per set which ranked her number 1 in the nation (1st in region). In addition, Suppa finished on the All-Region volleyball team. The talented two sport athlete finished the volleyball and soccer season on the All-Region team for both sports. Head Coach Dianna Ste-Marie said “Kayla is an outstanding player and leader. Her presences on the court is such a huge determinant of the outcome of the game. When Kayla is not on the court everyone knows it. She brings out the best in everyone on the team with how hard she works for everything on the court. I will miss her leadership, drive and of course skills on defense next year.
