Stian Klausen, Athlete of the Month
Men's Soccer goalie Stian Klausen is the 2019 November Green & Gold Female Athlete of the Month
Herkimer College has announced its Green and Gold Athletes for the month of November. They are men’s soccer player Tinius Klausen (Oslo, Norway) and women’s soccer player Tayler Clark (Poland, NY)
Klausen, a sophomore goalie, went 10-1 this season and was named Defensive Player of 2019 Division III National Tournament as Herkimer finished the season as the National Runner-Up and a 20-1 overall record. Coach Pepe Aragon states “ Tinius was unbelievable in the Region III Championship Game and National Tournament. He played a huge role in getting us to the final. He made some big time saves in all of our playoff games.”
Clark, a freshman midfielder, was 5th in the nation with 17 assists and named MVP of the Region IIIB Championship Game as Herkimer qualified for the National Tournament for the 3rd straight year. Clark was also named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region First Team. “ I am happy for Tayler to receive more recognition because most people don’t understand everything she does for us on the field” states Head Coach Jason Palkovic. “I am thrilled to have her back for another season in 2020.
