Herkimer Finishes Fifth in Final Daktronics Cup Standings
Herkimer is the only non-scholarship junior college program to place in the top 10 each year since the Daktronics Cup’s inception in 2003-04 and has been in the top five in 17 of the last 18 years.
CLEVELAND, OH – For the ninth time in the last 10 years, Herkimer College has placed in the top-5 of the Daktronics Cup standings for non-scholarship schools.
The Daktronics Cup is an annual award system run by The National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA), recognizing the junior college athletic programs with the most success over the duration of the school year. The champions for each sport receive 20 points, second place gets 19 points, third place gets 18 points, etc…
Each institution is allowed to earn points in their top-five sports per gender, with a college program having the potential to earn points in ten (10) total sports.
NATYCAA recently released its final standings for the 2022-23 season, with the Generals finishing fifth. Herkimer had athletes from 11 different sports compete at the NJCAA Division III National Championships this season.

Additionally, Herkimer is tied for the most top-5 finishes for non-scholarship schools in the last 10 years.
