Generals lose par of matches to #7 Onondaga
SYRACUSE, NY – Playing in two pro set matches on Tuesday (4/19) at Onondaga Community College, the Herkimer Generals men's tennis team lost both matches 9-0 to the #7 Lazers.
Herkimer (0-4) had their best showing in the second pro set with Brendon Budd (Norwich, NY) and Vincent Salamone (Oneida, NY) playing better in first and fifth singles. Budd took four games from Onondaga's Jon Vankouwenberg and Salamone took three from Onondaga's Vincent Hopkins.
That solid play carried over for Budd when he teamed with Branden Garrett (Deerfiedl, NY) in doubles, taking three games from Sacha Borel and Carlos Pena-Alicea.
Up next for Herkimer is SUNY Adirondack. The team will play in their fourth match on the road Wednesday (4/20) at 4 p.m. The Timberwolves 2-3 overall.
