McLean Jr. Green & Gold after solid last month
HERKIMER, NY – Herkimer Generals men's basketball player Anquan McLean Jr. of Albany, NY was named Green & Gold Male Athlete of the Month for February, helping his team to another regional playoff appearance under Head Coach Matt Lee.
McLean Jr., a Business: Sports & Recreation Management major at Herkimer College, set the tone with five double doubles in 10 games, averaging 10.1 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. Helping the freshman to those totals was a season-high 20 points against Fulton-Montgomery at home and a 16 and 15 rebound performance against those same Raiders in the span of four games. The forward finished the season grabbing 254 rebounds which averaged out to 10.6 per contest. 254 was the 28th best in the nation and 10.6 was the 20th best.
"Anquan is starting to develop himself into a strong student-athlete here at Herkimer," said Head Men's Basketball Coach Matt Lee. "We look forward to his future here at the College!"
