Oladitan's Double-Double Powers Herkimer Past North Country
The Herkimer College men's basketball team secured a 74-56 road victory over North Country Community College. The Generals set the tone early, leading 36-23 at halftime and maintaining control throughout the second half.
Sophomore Oladele Oladitan led Herkimer's offense with a dominant 16-point performance, adding 11 rebounds and five assists. Sophomore Tajuan Thomas led both sides with 18 points on 9-of-10 shooting.
Sophomore Jayson McGhee provided a spark off the bench, scoring 15 points and grabbing 4 rebounds in an efficient outing. Freshman Kenny Freeman added 11 points, and his five rebounds helped Herkimer control the offensive glass.
The Generals shot 41.6% from the field and took advantage of their trips to the free-throw line, going 8-for-12. Defensively, they held North Country to just 32.8% shooting.
Herkimer's balanced scoring and strong defense paved the way for the win, and they'll look to carry this momentum into their upcoming games. The Generals take on Hudson Valley CC on Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the Varsity Gymnasium.
