Four Score in Double-Figures in Men's Basketball Win at Finger Lakes
The Herkimer College men's basketball team picked up a solid 81-60 win on the road against Finger Lakes Community College.
The Generals came out strong, building a 43-33 lead at halftime, and stayed in control throughout the second half to secure the victory.
In his first career start, sophomore Jayson McGhee (New Rochelle, NY) was a standout for Herkimer, leading the team with 20 points on 9-of-12 shooting, including two three-pointers. McGhee added five rebounds and seven assists in a strong all-around effort.
Sophomore Tajuan Thomas (Atlanta, GA) added 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting and five rebounds. Sophomore AJ Burnett (Syracuse, NY) provided a spark with 11 points, and five assists, while freshman Kenny Freeman (Rochester, NY) added 10 points, seven rebounds and four blocks.
Herkimer has a few days off before heading north to play Clinton CC on Friday at 6:00 PM.
