Freeman Named NJCAA Region III Athlete of the Week

Herkimer College sophomore Kenny Freeman (Rochester, N.Y.) has been named the NJCAA Region III Athlete of the Week for the period of January 5–11, 2026, following a dominant two-game stretch that helped propel the Generals to a perfect 2–0 week.

Freeman averaged 20.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 60 percent from the field, showcasing his efficiency and all-around impact on both ends of the floor.

In a win over Division I Erie Community College, Freeman recorded 15 points and six rebounds, setting the tone with his physical play and offensive consistency. He followed that performance with a standout effort against Jamestown Community College, scoring a game-high 25 points and pulling down nine rebounds to lead the Generals to another key victory.

Freeman's strong week highlighted his ability to control the paint, score efficiently, and lead by example as Herkimer continues its push through conference and regional play.
