Head Coach: Anthony “Tony” DeLuca

Men’s and Women’s Bowling | 10th Season (2026)

Tony DeLuca enters his tenth season as head coach of the Herkimer College men’s and women’s bowling programs. In 2024, freshmen Darrian Gilmore and Olivia Stromecki both earned All-Region recognition.

Under DeLuca’s leadership, the Generals have become a consistent force in Region III. In 2024, the women’s team captured the Region III Team Championship with a dominant performance, winning by over 500 pins. Standout freshman Rylee Roe earned individual titles in both Singles and All-Events, finishing with 926 pins in singles and 1,784 overall. On the men’s side, Ronnie Ellis claimed All-Region honors after finishing just six pins shy of a singles title.

A year prior, freshman Emily Ferlo claimed the Region III Singles Championship, continuing the trend of young bowlers finding success under DeLuca’s guidance.

In 2022, the Herkimer women dominated the Region III Team Championship, placing five bowlers in the top six of the final standings. DeLuca’s teams have also been recognized academically: in 2020, the men’s program was named NJCAA Academic Team of the Year.

Before becoming head coach, DeLuca served as an assistant under former coach P.J. Anadio, helping guide the program to back-to-back seventh-place regional finishes and a 14th-place national ranking. That year, sophomore Trevor Marston earned All-Region honors with a 1,596 All-Events score.

A Herkimer alum himself, DeLuca holds an A.A.S. in Sports & Recreation Management and competed for the Generals during his time as a student-athlete. Born and raised in Frankfort, NY, he continues to bowl competitively at the state and professional levels. Off the lanes, he also works in the college’s Financial Aid Office, helping support students in all aspects of campus life.
