Four Generals Earn Mountain Valley Conference All-Conference Honors
The Herkimer Generals Men's Golf Team was well represented in the 2025 Mountain Valley Conference All-Conference selections, with four athletes earning postseason recognition for their outstanding performances this spring.
Sophomores Jaydon Dietz and Anthony Zysk were named to the Mountain Valley Conference First Team, while freshmen Matt Urtz and Coltan Frederick received Second Team honors.
Dietz led the Generals throughout the season with consistency, finishing with a scoring average of 76.29, the lowest on the team and one of the best in the conference. He posted sub-80 scores in seven events, including a season-best 73 at both the Onondaga and SUNY Adirondack Invitationals.
Zysk was another reliable force for Herkimer, earning First Team honors with a scoring average of 80.71. His steady play helped anchor the lineup all season long, with multiple rounds in the 70s and a strong showing at the Hudson Valley Invite, where he carded a 78.
On the Second Team, Urtz made an immediate impact in his freshman season, averaging 82.50 across four events, highlighted by a 78 in his first collegiate tournament. Frederick rounded out the honorees with a scoring average of 87.14, showing resilience and improvement over the course of the season.
