Ryan Hoyt Named Herkimer College Male Athlete of the Year
HERKIMER, N.Y. – Herkimer County Community College men's lacrosse standout Ryan Hoyt was named the 2025-26 Male Athlete of the Year at the 27th Annual Kiwanis Athletic Recognition Dinner held on May 1, 2026.
HERKIMER, N.Y. – Herkimer County Community College men's lacrosse standout Ryan Hoyt was named the 2025-26 Male Athlete of the Year at the 27th Annual Kiwanis Athletic Recognition Dinner held on May 1, 2026.
The sophomore attackman capped off a remarkable season by earning one of the college's highest athletic honors after helping lead the Generals to one of the most successful campaigns in program history.
Hoyt was named the Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year and earned NJCAA Region 3 First Team honors at attack. His outstanding play also garnered national recognition as he was selected as a NJCAA Second Team All-American.
Throughout the season, Hoyt paced the Generals offensively, leading the team in goals, assists, and total points. His ability to score, create opportunities for teammates, and perform in key moments made him one of the top players in the region and across the nation.
Hoyt's leadership and production were instrumental in Herkimer's championship season. The Generals captured the Mountain Valley Conference Championship and the NJCAA Region 3 Championship before earning a berth in the NJCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship Tournament.
As one of the team's offensive leaders, Hoyt consistently delivered throughout the season and helped guide the Generals back to the national stage. His individual accomplishments, combined with the team's success, made him a deserving recipient of the 2025-26 Herkimer College Male Athlete of the Year award.
The recognition at the annual Kiwanis Athletic Recognition Dinner celebrates Hoyt's exceptional season and his contributions to the continued success of the Herkimer men's lacrosse program.
