Fujishima and Middleton Named to United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American Teams
Herkimer, NY- Sophomores Yamato Fujishima (Saitama, Japan) and Kyle Middleton (Dundee, Scotland) were named to the United Soccer Coaches Junior College Scholar All-America teams. The award recognizes student athletes who display outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments at two and four-year colleges.
Fujishima, a General Studies major, was named to the first team as a winger. He was also selected as a first team all-Region III and to the NJCAA national all-tournament team. Middleton, a Sports and Recreation Management major, was selected to the second team. He was also selected as a first team all-Region III as a midfielder.
"I am so proud and happy for Yamato and Kyle," says Coach Pepe Aragon. "All of their hard work, both on and off the field, has paid off."
Fujishima and Middleton will receive their awards at the United Soccer Coaches national ceremony and reception in Philadelphia on Saturday, January 14.
