Generals Track and Field Finish Second at Regionals

Both the men’s and women’s track and field teams finished in second place at the 2023 Region III Track and Field Championships at Hudson Valley Community College.

TROY, NY – Both the men's and women's track and field teams finished in second place at the Region III Track and Field Championships at Hudson Valley Community College last weekend.

The Generals men's team had five athletes record podium individual finishes in 13 different events, including first-place finishes from Avion Harris (3000M Steeplechase), Brian Reile (Decathlon, high jump), Allen Booth (400M) and the 4x800 relay team of Ryan Jenkins, Booth, Harris, and Landon Kepple. 

Booth's first-place finish in the 400M was a PR and his first individual victory this season. Reile, a Herkimer native, set PRs in the 110M hurdles, 4x100 relay, high jump, pole vault and shot put, continuing a sensational freshman season.

The Generals women's team featured nine athletes record podium finishes in 17 different events, including first-place finishes from Lydia Reimer (400 hurdles) and Gianna Rutherford (high jump, pole vault). 

Both the 4x400 relay team (Reimer, Stevens, Breanne Millson, and Amelia-Bowman McCoy) and the 4x800 relay team (Madison Altamura, Reimer, Millson, Bowman-McCoy) recorded first-place finishes.

Jynae Stevens recorded the fastest 200M in school history since at least 2013, clocking in at 27.25 seconds.
