Herkimer Track & Field Shows Strength at Region III Championships
Herkimer College the 2025 NJCAA Region III Track and Field Championships at Little Falls High School over the weekend, with both the men's and women's teams putting together a strong showing against some of the region's top programs.
The women's team tallied 49 points to finish fourth overall, highlighted by a standout sprinting performance from freshman Kimora Brown. Brown placed third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.97 seconds and followed it up with a runner-up finish in the 200-meter dash in 27.13. She also added a third-place effort in the 400 meters (1:11.12), capping off a busy day on the track.
Sophomore Eleyna Rivas earned a Region III title in the high jump with a top clearance of 1.44 meters, while also finishing seventh in the 100-meter dash and second in the 400 meters. Freshman Haley Cornine contributed across multiple events, placing second in the high jump and scoring in the 400 and javelin throws. Kathleen Miseno-Bowles added a sixth-place finish in javelin and eighth in discus.
On the men's side, Herkimer placed fourth as a team with 41 points. Donnell Davis delivered a second-place finish in the 5,000-meter run (17:41.50), while sophomore Michael Green had a strong showing in both the 1,500 meters (fourth, 4:44.30) and the 3,000-meter steeplechase (second, 12:00.10).
The Generals also picked up key points in the field events. Cameron Borges was second in the discus throw (30.96m) and third in shot put (11.34m), while Thomas Bennett added points in both as well. Jayden Norris and Justin Parker contributed in the jumps, with Norris finishing sixth in high jump and Parker competing in long jump.
With the outdoor season winding down, Herkimer athletes look to build on this momentum heading into the final meets of the spring.
