Generals sweep Yellowjackets and Jersey blues

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – Collecting their third consecutive win during their spring trip, the Herkimer Generals softball team defeated Rochester Technical and Brookdale on Tuesday (3/17) 3-2 and 7-0.

Herkimer (3-4) got solid pitching performances from Dana Nicoletti (Syracuse, NY) and Brittany Ormond (New Paltz, NY). Both players threw complete games for the team with Nicoletti allowing two earned runs on seven hits and Ormond allowing zero runs and two hits for the shutout.

Collecing RBI in game one were Taylore Daniels (Watervliet, NY) and Kayla Bancroft (Fort Ann, NY). Scoring the three runs for the Generals were Karintha Myslivecek (Redfield, NY) and Lindsey Parese (Herkimer, NY).

In game two, Herkimer took advantage of five walks, scoring six runs in the first two innings. Capitalizing with runners in scoring position were Hannah Potter (Pulaski, NY), Daniels and Nicoletti. Potter had two RBI, while both Daniels and Nicoletti had one.

The Generals play again tomorrow (3/18) against Mercer County and Prairie State. Game time is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
