Olivia Friend Named First Team NJCAA All-American
Herkimer College sophomore Olivia Friend was named an NJCAA Division III First Team All-American earlier this week.

Friend, an infielder from Oneida, NY, hit .532 this season, the eighth-best in NJCAA Division III, and second-best amongst players with at least 100 at-bats.
She ended the season with a hit in 28 of her last 29 games, and had at least two hits in 21 of those games. She led the team in six offensive categories, including batting average, hits, extra base hits, RBI, slugging percentage and on-base percentage
She was named NJCAA Division III Softball Player of the Week on April 31st after hitting .688 with six extra base hits in four games. She was also named Region III Athlete of the Week earlier this season and was named to the Region III All-Tournament Team.
Friend finished her career with 124 hits and 105 runs and an incredible .532 batting average. She is the 38th player in Herkimer Softball history to be named an NJCAA All-American.
