The Herkimer Generals Softball Team dropped both games of a home doubleheader against Onondaga Community College.
In Game 1, the Generals fell 18-2. Yetnelyz Lugo-Mateo led the offense with two hits and two runs scored. Emma Carlton drove in Herkimer's only RBI. Kimora Brown and Lugo-Mateo each stole two bases. Kerrigan Crysler started in the circle and took the loss.
Onondaga scored seven runs in the first and added six more in the fifth to end the game in five innings.
In Game 2, Herkimer showed more fight but came up short, falling 14-5. Aubrey Lewis had a strong game with three hits and an RBI. Kimora Brown, Emma Carlton, and Kyndra Sequin each drove in runs. Jessica Zalucki scored twice and added a hit.
Emma Carlton pitched the second game for the Generals. Onondaga used a big first inning again, scoring seven early runs to take control and never look back.
The Generals have a quick turnaround, hosting Jefferson CC tomorrow with first pitch scheduled for 3:00 PM.
