Dan Stalteri returns to Herkimer College as Head Softball Coach, bringing with him a wealth of coaching experience and a legacy of success at both the collegiate and high school levels. Stalteri previously served as Associate Head Coach for the Generals from 2012 to 2018, helping lead the program to a National Championship in 2013 and being named part of the NJCAA National Coaching Staff of the Year.

He began his head coaching career in 2011 at Herkimer Central School District, where he led the varsity softball team until 2019, collecting multiple divisional titles along the way. From 2020 to 2025, Stalteri was the Head Varsity Softball Coach at New Hartford Central School District, guiding the program to a Section III Class A Championship and Regional Final appearance in 2022. His impact on the local softball scene extends into travel ball as well, having coached with the Utica Lady Comets 18U and 16U teams from 2020 to 2023, and serving as Head of Player Development for the organization’s 16U-8U levels through 2025.

During his time at Herkimer College, Stalteri contributed to five NJCAA Regional Championship teams and played a vital role in establishing the Generals as one of the premier programs in the country. His efforts were recognized in 2022 when he was named All-Mohawk Valley High School Co-Coach of the Year.

A proud alumnus of Herkimer, Stalteri earned his associate degree in Applied Science from the college in 1985 before completing a Bachelor of Science at Utica College of Syracuse University in 1987.

In addition to coaching, Stalteri has served for 34 years as Vice President of Hummel's Contract Furniture Division. He is also active in civic leadership as a Town Councilman and Deputy Supervisor for the Town of Herkimer, and is the owner-operator of Performance .420 CoachStalteri LLC, where he provides private instruction as a batting coach.

Dan and his wife Marianne have two daughters, Kahley Kirisits and Emily Stalteri, and are proud grandparents to five grandchildren: Killian, Hudson, Conan, Emma, and Ireland.
