Herkimer's offense stayed hot throughout the doubleheader, combining for 28 runs while receiving strong pitching performances from Perry in both games.
In Game 1, Herkimer rolled to an 11-0 win behind a huge performance from Broderick, who drove in four runs on two doubles. Broderick delivered a two-run double during a massive nine-run second inning and added another two-run double in the third inning.
The Generals broke the game open in the second inning with contributions throughout the lineup. Perry tripled home a run, Kelly doubled in another, Molter drove in a run with a groundout, and Broderick's two-run double highlighted the rally. Perry later added another RBI triple, while Kelly capped the inning with an RBI single.
Herkimer added two more runs in the third inning when Broderick doubled down the left field line to score a pair.
Perry dominated in the circle, tossing a one-hit shutout over five innings while striking out eight and walking two.
Kelly, Powers, Broderick, and Perry each collected two hits in the win. Carlton added two stolen bases, while the Generals played error-free defense behind Broderick, who led the team with eight defensive chances.
The offensive momentum continued in Game 2 as Herkimer defeated SUNY Adirondack 17-5.
The Generals exploded for nine runs in the opening inning to take immediate control. An error brought home the first run before Broderick singled in another. Perry followed with a two-run triple, Powers drew a bases-loaded walk, Roberts added an RBI double, and Carlton delivered a two-run single. Broderick later drew a bases-loaded walk to cap the inning.
Herkimer added two more runs in the third inning on a double play ball and a sacrifice fly before putting the game away with a five-run fifth inning. Perry singled home a run, an error plated two more, and Powers finished the scoring with an inside-the-park two-run home run.
Perry earned the win in the second game as well, allowing just two hits and no earned runs over four innings while striking out eight. Powers appeared in relief to close out the victory.
The Generals finished with 11 hits in Game 2, led by Perry's three-hit performance. Powers drove in three runs, while Neville and Roberts each collected multiple hits. Herkimer also showed patience at the plate with seven walks and once again played flawless defense.
The Generals will travel to face Monroe University Mustangs on Saturday in their next matchup.
