Generals Lock Down Hostos, Return to Win Column with 69–49 Victory
Herkimer Women's Basketball got back into the win column with a 69-49 win over Region 15 Hostos Community College on Saturday afternoon. Leaning on it's defense in the first half, the Generals only gave up 15 points, while capitalizing on steals and turnovers with transition baskets.

In the opening quarter, the hot hands belonged to Freshman Jordan Bellinger (Oneonta, NY) and Sophomore Mariah Freeman (Rochester, NY), each hitting big three pointers and stellar defense.
In the second quarter, Freshman swing Amiya Carter (Newark, NJ) and Freshman Ava Nicholson (Brooklyn, NY) turned defense into offense, stretching the lead to over 20 going into the break.
In the second half, Freshman Nevaeh Spencer (Brooklyn, NY), celebrating her 19th birthday took over. Finishing with 16 pts, 7 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 assists, she left the team in all four categories. Sophomore Angelina Deitz finished with 11 points, including 9 in the 2nd half.
With the win, Herkimer evened it's overall record at 7-7 on the year.
