All-Region honors go to Canavan, Coufal and Caughey

HERKIMER, NY – The Herkimer Generals women's lacrosse team had three players make it to the All-Region team in 2014. They were Courtney Canavan (Baldwinsville, NY), Emilie Coufal (Syracuse, NY) and Alexis Caughey (Cortland, NY).
Canavan, a midfielder, received first team honors. The sophomore had the most goals on the team, scoring in every game she played in. It helped her amass 35 goals and six assists, opening the season with a 10 goal performance against Mohawk Valley Community College, her best output of the entire season.
Earning second team honors were Coufal and Caughey. Each had double digit totals in regards to goals, with Caughey scoring 24 and Coufal scoring 16. Both also combined for 22 assists, with Caughey getting 13 and Coufal getting nine. Caughey had her best game against Broome Community College. The freshman helped the Generals defeat the Hornets 19-7, totaling six goals and two assists. As for the sophomore, Coufal helped the Generals sweep the season series against the Hawks, scoring seven goals against Mohawk Valley at home for the 16-5 victory.
