WATERTOWN, N.Y. – The Herkimer Generals women's soccer team couldn't overcome an early deficit on Thursday afternoon, falling 2-0 on the road to Jefferson Community College.
The Cannoneers struck twice in the opening minutes, capitalizing on quick attacking pressure to grab a 2-0 advantage that would hold for the remainder of the match. Despite the slow start, the Generals regrouped and put together a strong defensive performance for the rest of the contest, limiting Jefferson's chances and keeping the scoreline from growing.
Herkimer worked to generate opportunities in the attack, with several pushes forward in the second half, but couldn't find the finishing touch to cut into the deficit.
The Generals (1-1-1) will look to bounce back when they travel to face North Country Saints on September 10th, 2025 at 2pm.
