Bio
Damon Neish – Head Coach, Women’s Soccer
5th Season (2025)
Damon Neish finished his fourth season as head coach of the Herkimer College Women’s Soccer program, bringing with him a global coaching background and a strong track record of player development. Since taking the helm, Neish has led the Generals to a 34-15-6 record while instilling a competitive culture focused on growth, discipline, and team identity.
A native of Scotland, Neish was a four-year starter at the University of Abertay Dundee, where he earned his degree in sports coaching and development. His coaching career began in the U.S. in 2011 before returning to Scotland to advance through the professional coaching ranks. He spent four years at Dundee FC’s pro-youth academy, coaching the U12, U14, and U19 teams, and developing players who would go on to compete in the Scottish Premier League.
In 2014, Neish took over as head coach of Forfar Farmington in the Scottish Women’s Premier League, leading the club through two top-tier seasons while working closely with youth international players. He also collaborated with the Scottish Football Association, gaining experience alongside national team coaches at both the youth and senior levels.
Before returning to the U.S., Neish held a leadership role with Jeanfield/St. Johnstone WFC, where he helped bridge the gap between youth and elite women’s soccer by overseeing the club’s performance academy.
Since 2016, Neish has served as Director of Coaching at Rising Stars Soccer Academy, helping grow the game in Central New York. His work has led to dozens of athletes advancing to the collegiate level. He remains deeply invested in community soccer development through his involvement with Schuyler Sports and Community Athletic Solutions.
Coach Neish combines a high-level understanding of the game with a hands-on, player-focused approach. He’s passionate about helping student-athletes reach their potential both on the field and in the classroom.
