Herkimer Women’s Swimming Finishes 4th at Region 3 Championships
The Herkimer Generals women’s swimming team turned in a strong showing at the Region III Northeast District Championships, finishing 4th overall with 69 points.

Freshman Rachael Defraine led the way for Herkimer with an outstanding performance in multiple events. Defraine swam a national qualifying time in the 50-yard breaststroke, earning a 5th-place finish, and also recorded her fastest time of the season in the 50-yard freestyle. She continued her success in the 100-yard breaststroke, placing in the top five while posting a season-best time.
Alexis Egnew also contributed significantly to the Generals' team score with a well-rounded performance. Egnew placed 4th in the 500-yard freestyle, 5th in the 50-yard butterfly, 6th in the 100-yard freestyle, and added a 9th-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle.
The Generals' strong individual efforts helped power the team to a top-four finish, highlighting the program's continued growth and competitiveness at the regional level.
