Kimora Brown Sets Two Program Records; Eleyna Rivas Finishes in Two Events
The Herkimer Generals Women's Track and Field team concluded their 2025 season with several standout performances at the NJCAA Division III National Championships. The Generals totaled 14 team points, tying for 16th place in the final standings.
Friday, May 9 – Day 2
The meet began with Eleyna Rivas taking part in the 400-meter dash prelims, narrowly missing the finals with a time of 1:05.34, tying for 9th place and just outside of the top eight needed to advance.
Later in the day, Kimora Brown made her championship debut in the 100-meter dash prelims. Brown ran a 12.97 to qualify for finals, placing fifth overall in the heats.
Saturday, May 10 – Day 3
Rivas also competed in the high jump, clearing 1.34 meters to finish in 7th place, adding two points to Herkimer's total.
In the 100-meter dash final, Brown put forth an incredible effort, finishing with a time of 12.74, a program-record and a fifth-place finish. All eight runners in the race finished within one second of each other.
In the 200-meter dash final, Brown delivered one of the top performances of the meet for Herkimer, finishing second overall with a time of 26.13, earning eight more team points and NJCAA All-American honors in the event. It was also the second program record Brown set on the day!
Team Standings
Herkimer finished the championship with 14 team points, placing tied for 16th overall out of 22 scoring programs nationwide.
