Generals Earn Podium Finishes at Region III Championships

The Generals were led by a standout performance from sophomore Haley Cornine in the 400-meter dash. Cornine placed third overall with a time of 1:14.15, earning a podium finish and scoring valuable team points in one of the meet's most competitive events.
In the sprint events, freshman Nevaeh Spencer turned in a solid showing in the 100-meter dash, finishing fifth overall with a time of 13.16. Teammate Amiya Carter also competed in the 100 meters and added a strong performance in the 200-meter dash, placing fourth overall with a time of 27.89 to score points for the Generals.
Herkimer saw contributions across multiple events, with athletes competing in sprints and middle-distance races against a deep and talented field that included Hudson Valley, Mohawk Valley, and Finger Lakes. The championship meet featured many of the top performers in the region and served as a key qualifier for the national stage.
As a team, the Generals showed continued growth and competitiveness, earning points in multiple events while gaining valuable championship experience. With strong individual performances and momentum heading forward, Herkimer will now set its sights on the national meet as the outdoor season reaches its peak.
