Leary Named Coach of the Year; Hoyt Earns MVC Player of the Year Honors

HERKIMER, N.Y. – The Herkimer County Community College men's lacrosse team was well represented in the postseason awards as the Generals earned numerous Mountain Valley Conference and NJCAA Region 3 honors following a successful 2026 campaign.

Leading the way was head coach Bob Leary, who was selected as the 2026 Mountain Valley Conference Coach of the Year after guiding the Generals to a strong season against conference and regional competition.

Sophomore Ryan Hoyt earned one of the conference's highest individual honors, being named the Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year. Hoyt also received NJCAA Region 3 First Team recognition, highlighting his outstanding performance throughout the season.

The Generals placed multiple players on the Mountain Valley Conference All-Conference Team. Hoyt and freshman Lenox Richard were selected as All-Conference Attackmen after leading Herkimer's offensive efforts.

In the midfield, sophomore Eric Attleson, sophomore Ethan McIntyre, and freshman Sanjay Tomlinson each earned All-Conference honors for their contributions on both ends of the field.

Freshman Liam O'Connor was recognized as an All-Conference Defenseman, while sophomore Leonardo Checo earned All-Conference honors at the faceoff position. Freshman Teddy Friend rounded out the conference selections after being named the All-Conference Goalie.

Herkimer's success extended to the regional level as six Generals received NJCAA Region 3 recognition.

Hoyt's standout season earned him a spot on the NJCAA Region 3 First Team. Joining him on the All-Region squad were freshman Lenox Richard, freshman Ryan Della Rocco, sophomore Eric Attleson, sophomore Makiah Anderson, and sophomore Leonardo Checo, all of whom were selected to the NJCAA Region 3 Third Team.

The numerous conference and regional awards reflect the depth and talent of the 2026 Herkimer men's lacrosse team and recognize the hard work and dedication displayed by the Generals throughout the season.
