Herkimer came out firing in the opening quarter, matching Nassau stride for stride in a back-and-forth battle. The Generals built momentum late in the first, closing on a 4–1 run to take an 8–7 lead after one. Ryan Hoyt and Lenox Richard led the early charge, combining for seven first-quarter goals as the offense clicked efficiently.
The tide shifted in the second quarter, however, as Nassau erupted for eight goals. Matt D'Aversa and Luke Hartman powered the surge, helping Nassau turn a one-goal deficit into a 15–10 halftime advantage. Despite man-up goals from Ryan Della Rocco, the Generals were unable to slow Nassau's offensive rhythm.
Nassau continued to pull away in the third quarter, outscoring Herkimer 6–1. D'Aversa finished with a game-high seven goals, while Hartman added five goals and five assists in a dominant performance. Nassau's relentless pressure resulted in a 66–33 shot advantage and a 50–31 edge in ground balls.
Herkimer showed flashes in the second half, including goals from Eric Attleson, who totaled two goals and three assists, but could not close the gap. Hoyt finished with four goals and two assists, while Richard added three goals and an assist.
At the faceoff X, Leonardo Checo battled throughout, winning 17 draws and collecting a team-high 12 ground balls.
In goal, Teddy Friend made 17 saves against a high-volume Nassau attack.
Despite the loss, Herkimer demonstrated resilience and offensive firepower early against one of the top teams in the nation. The Generals conclude their season with a 6–4 record, while Nassau advances to the NJCAA semifinals.
